This is the lived journey of our organization, told through the experience of our founder, Eileen Meadows.

"For as long as I can remember, my sister Sandy was sick. With our mother working nights on the railroad and no other caregivers, I became Sandy's primary support-despite being eight years younger. By the age of 9, I was handling responsibilities most adults would find overwhelming: giving insulin shots, helping her bathe, calling 911 when she was unresponsive.

These moments were never a burden. Sandy was my sister, my best friend, and I cared for her with all the hope and love I had. When she passed away at just 24, the loss changed me-but it also gave me purpose. I became a caregiver after high school and pursued a degree in social work, determined to help others as I had helped Sandy.

Years later, I shared my dream of opening a care agency with my husband. With his support, we founded Sandra Lees In-Home Care-not just in Sandy's name, but in her spirit. Starting the agency while raising nine children and working second jobs was anything but easy, but we were driven by a belief: no one should face illness, disability, or aging alone.

Our mission isn't to change lives-it's to walk beside those we serve, so they never face their challenges alone. Everything we do is in memory of Sandy, whose strength reminds us daily that love and connection can light even the darkest path."
